We swear, the whole town smells like someone is baking something delicious around every corner.
It is the perfect place for a relaxed winter stroll along Heritage Parkway with beautiful views of the Sheep River, some last minute holiday shopping from locally owned shops and cafés, or a cozy date day getaway.
We spent the weekend exploring Okotoks to capture a bit of its small town magic and it truly does shine this time of year.

British Bangers Company is a must-visit stop on Elizabeth Street, especially if you love authentic English comfort food. Owners Tim and Tracey Worsley bring their butchery roots from England to Okotoks with handmade sausages, dry cured bacon, pies, pasties, and a fun selection of imported treats you cannot find everywhere. Do not leave without trying the sausage rolls.
Main Street in Okotoks is especially charming during the holidays with twinkle lights, festive window displays, and locally owned shops that feel warm and welcoming the moment you step inside.

Covet Sips + Sweets On your way back toward Calgary or Cochrane, make time for Covet Sips and Sweets. This boutique cookie and drink shop is known for its oversized gourmet cookies, fun fountain drinks, and great coffee, making it an ideal grab-and-go treat for the drive home.
A visit during Christmas in Okotoks is not complete without a peaceful walk along the Heritage Parkway. Starting near the Okotoks Lions Campground, the paved pathways follow the Sheep River with beautiful views, easy walking, and plenty of birdwatching spots. The Cimarron Parkway connection creates a gentle loop through town that's perfect for couples or families looking to enjoy the festive season outdoors.
